In the past, Barry has built stands for the following engines:

Pratt & Whitney JT15d (working and storage form factors)

Rolls Royce M250 (working form factor)

Various Garrett/Honeywell engines

Clip-on PTT switch with cable

This is an after-market PTT switch that is meant to clip onto the bottom-back of the yoke. The clip-on part is made of black ABS with a small circuit board that houses the tactile button and cable connection. This is definitely cooler than any of the velcro-on PTT switches that you can find on Sporty’s while still being comparably priced.

Key facts:

Designed for yokes similar to Piper P/N 12592-2 (see last product image for an image of the yoke)

Cable is ~1 ft long when un-stretched and can stretch to 3-4 ft

Cable is terminated with a 3.5mm headphone jack which you can use or cut off and replace with your own termination

The button has a very satisfying click that can be felt when pressing it, giving you feedback that the button is fully engaged

Body is made of ABS, which will not deform in the summer heat

When installed, the board is sandwiched between the yoke and the ABS shell

When not installed, the board is exposed, making it easy to service it should the need arise

Some things to note:

This is obviously not certified in any way, shape, or form. It’s made in some dude’s garage. This is not some battle-hardened piece of hardware and like several of the other things in the cockpit, it might fail at any time.

Because these parts are 3D printed, there are always some manufacturing flaws, most of which are cosmetic.

Because these parts are assembled by hand, there are always assembling flaws, specifically when it comes to centering the button in the hole and to soldering. Not all parts will look exactly the same.

Designed, 3D printed, soldered, and assembled by hand in Orlando, FL with and for a fellow pilot and friend near Atlanta, GA that needed a pair.

ABS + steel armrest base

This base armrest is created out of ABS plastic and reinforced with two steel rods. It weighs within two ounces of it’s all-metal counterpart and feels amazing in your hand while coming in at half the price. If you’re looking for a ready-made armrest base that’s not going to rust and outlast the rest of the car, then you’ve come to the right place. This piece comes ready to accept the top-pad, vinyl, and finger guard.

Key facts:

Designed for a 1959/1960 Chevy Impala, but it’s possibly compatible with other Chevys from the same year(s)

Mounts with two screws, just like the original metal version

Does not fit the original rubber pad; the pad that fits the metal version must be cut slightly shorter in order to fit

Made from ABS plastic with steel reinforcement rods

Test fitted on an original door to ensure compatibility

Optional: Mounting hardware and metal finger guard are available

The mounting hardware is free and you get a discount on the finger guard if you select it here instead of adding a separate one to your cart.

Note: The version pictured is the 1961 version. We are awaiting photographs of the 1959/1960 model.

Special Note: Because this part has reinforcements in places that it’s metal counter-part does not, the top pad will require slight modification. The pad will have to be cut about 1/4 inch shorter.

Designed, 3D printed, and assembled in Orlando, FL based on the all-metal design created by Barry West in Apopka, FL.
